Tribute to Wes Mullis
10/24/2008 10:37:31 to the family of wesley jackson 'wes' mullis -
I`ve known wes 5 years and not once would I think about this happening to him , but the night I found out about this I knew it could happen to anyone. Wes was a good friend he always came to school with a smile on his face and a warm and caring heart. I remember one day when i was up in the office crying cause i hurt my knee he walked up to me and asked me if I was ok and Isaid yes then he decided to massage my knee to make the pain go away and now when my knee gets that sharp pain in it i`ll always think of wes giving it the magical touch with his bare hands...I WILL ALWAYS MISS HIM....
love always, alexis spires
10/21/2008 20:18:44 "And God Said" -
I said "God, I hurt" and God said "I know."
I said "God, I cry alot" and God said "That's why I gave you tears."
I said "God, I am so depressed" and God said "That's why I gave you sunshine."
I said "God, life is so hard" and God said "That's why I gave you loved ones."
I said "God, my loved one died" and God said "So did mine."
I said "It is such a loss" and God said "I saw mine nailed to a Cross."
I said "But, God, your loved one lives" and God said "So does yours."
I said "God, where are they now?" and God said "Mine is on my right side and Yours is in the Light."
I said "God, it HURTS" and God said "I KNOW!"
I love you Wes "Buckwheat",
Love Mommy

From a parents veiw there can be no worse pain than to loose a child. When a community comes together at such a sad time and you hear all the positive things they are saying about the way you have raised your child it should make you smile. Although I did not know Wes my daughter is a student at DCHS and I have heard of how Wes is such a good and caring person. This brings tears to my eyes, for the simple reason I know he was raised to be that type of person. Wes touch so many lives and changed so many hearts that he has done twice the job in his 17 years here on earth. You will be in our prayers daily and our thoughts forever!!!!!!

10/20/2008 09:10:25 WES! -
Wes, I miss you so much! I have so many wonderful memories of you. We go all the way back to North Dodge. I remember us playing on the playground and just having a good time. I remember in middle school you loved to play baseball and thats all you talked about. We had plenty of arguements about which team was better. When we got to high school some people changed but not you. You were always the Wes that everyone knew and loved. I am going to miss you so much.
To Wes's family I am so sorry. Know that I am praying for yall everyday.
love you always Wes,
Kritie Davis

10/18/2008 11:41:06 we will all miss Wes greatly -
In the ninth grade me and Wes had a couple of classes together,he was always nice to me whenever we talked. After the ninth grade we weren't in very many classes together, but we still talked every once in a while though. I didn't know Wes as well as alot of people did, but every body who knew him, or talked to him was touched by him, wes was always incouraging, always had a smile and was nice to everybody he knew. To Wes's family I am sorry for your loss. I know that this is a very hard time for you, and I know that we all will get through this, I know that it will be hard and it will hurt alot. I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I will never forget him, he was a very special person. Shortly after my great uncle died two years ago my mother told me that if we talk about him, when we are able to talk about him, that he will never really be gone, that he will always be here in our hearts whether we knew him or not, as long as we talk about him once in awhile and we keep our memories of him alive, never really truly forget him that he will always be here. Wes wont truly be gone because he will be alive in our hearts, we will keep his memory alive, and we will always love Wes Mullis. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this trying and hard time.

10/18/2008 10:44:24 You Will Forever Be In My Heart -
Wesley Jackson Mullis. It is still so awkward saying the words "Wes isn't here". You were the greatest person in the whole world. The 2 years i have sat beside you at lunch I have never heard you say a bad word about anybody. You were the ideal student and an ideal friend. Its not fair how such a great person could be taken away from us, but i don't believe you are gone. You will be with us at homecoming, graduation, lunch, and everywhere else we go in life. I will still through and flip your fries at you at lunch and say those aggravating words "how do you feel about that Wes!!?? how does that make you feel!?" You were an amazing person and the mark you have left on my will always be shared. There will never be a day in my life I don't look back and say I love you Wes. I know you are in a better place and I am selfish for wanting you back here because you are an angel in Heaven where that is the best place you can be than here. As Logan said, nobody is sitting in your spot at lunch because you know I will not let them. And don't worry, they are still taking my purse from me :) I love you so much Wes. Your legacy will never be forgotten.
To Wes's family. I am so sorry. I know nothing is going to be able to ease the pain you are feeling. You are in my prayers everyday.
I Love You Wes.
Katie Yancey
10/18/2008 09:19:42 To the family and students of Dodge County High School -
Like everyone that knew Wes, we are so saddened by this heartbreaking tragedy. Our son has told us so many times that Wes was one of the few people that he knew who was a genuinely good person. Brian and Kathy, you raised a fine young man who was taken away too soon. In my 44 years, I can hardly remember a time when someone's life affected the entire town the way Wes's has. You have SO much to be proud of and our hearts and prayers are with you always.
To the students who loved and miss Wes so much, our hearts ache for you. But just remember, this is not the end, but the beginning of a glorious new life for Wes...one where he will be watching over you. So celebrate the life of Wes...honor him by living life every day the way he did; with a pure heart, a smile on his face and a desire to make everyone as happy as he was. Through this, you will always have a piece of Wes with you.
With love and prayers,
Billy and DeeAnne Hartley

10/18/2008 05:48:23 TO THE FAMILY OF WES MULLIS -
It was an honor and privilege to say that our family has been so blessed to have such a wonderful young man touch our lives. The last few days have been difficult for the entire Dodge County Community. Mark has stated so many times that God sent him to Eastside Barbell for a reason and he is so thankful that Wes came into his life. Miranda tells us of the wonderful friendship she found with Wes. Tyler recalls all the wonderful memories playing football and working out with Wes. I am just amazed at our town, school, students, family, and friends with the wonderful expression shown during that last several days…GOD IS GOOD AND WES IS WATCHING FROM THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN.
With love and prayers from Mark, Scarlett, Miranda, and Tyler

Wes was a great young man, who touched many lives especially those of his classmates and teachers at DCHS and he will be missed by many! I praise GOD for the 17 years He allowed the world to know Wes and praise Him even more that we all have the chance to find out about the rest one day in Heaven. Look to HIM over the coming days because Jesus is the only answer to all our questions!! You all are in our thoughts and prayers!

10/18/2008 02:06:05 Forever in our hearts, Dr. Fluff... -
Well..what to say? There are so many words left unsaid...words I wish I could've said before you passed. It saddens me so much to know that you're gone from us, but I know you're livin' in glory up there with "The Big Guy!" You know, they used our nickname, "Dr. Fluff", at the game tonight. That was sooo our lunch group's name for you, man!! You know it, haha. You know your true allegiance with that name. Sticks with us, big boy! You were supposed to sit by me at graduation...you'll be there in spirit, though. It's just not the same without you, Wes..At lunch, we won't let anyone sit in your spot. Nobody can fill that void that's left in our hearts now. It's crazy...how the best ones are taken from us. You were one of the sweetest, GOOFIEST guys to be around, and you just glowed. You'd probably laugh at me and say like you always did, "Logan....you're bipolar. I don't even know how to respond to that." Haha :) You ALWAYS put a smile on my face no matter what mood I was in. I think your always-optimistic-all-the-time mood was contagious!! Mallory, Kaleb, Colt, Katie and I will miss you & Kaleb's "Dr. Fluff & Superbat" sessions. Bob Mallory. Loho. Wessykins. You can't fix stupid, and that's what you are. Man, Wes....so many times we laughed together and just had the best talks of my life! HA:) I'll never forget them. You never had a bad thing to say about anyone, but you sure would clown sometimes!! Today I told Katie..."Just throw that grape at Wes's spot...and say "HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT WES?!" because he's here....he's here in spirit. Wes wouldn't just leave us like that." And you know, she did. It made us laugh, because we're trying to remember the positive way you touched our lives. You really were an outstanding young man, and your passing was most unexpected. But Wes, you will NEVER be forgotten...and you will forever live on in my heart. I love you so much Dr. Fluff/My Wessykins. :)
Mr. Brian, Mrs. Kathy, Mrs. Debbie and the rest of Wes's family...My prayers go out to ya'll. I pray that God will give you the strength to deal with the days to come. Just know that you raised one of the best guys I've ever known, that the Class of 2009 has ever known, and was PROUD to have him as a classmate..Wes is truly an angel, and I thank you so much for the person he was.
With Love,
Logan Mullis

God will give you the strength and courage to get through this difficult time when we wonder, if we will be able to get through each day. 10/17/2008 11:47:23 Gone but not forgotten Wes, -
I remember every single day in 4th period Mrs Lowe's class you always asked everybody for gum,a pencil, and paper. We always pretended like we were boyfriend and girlfriend and I wouldnt let any of the other girls talk to you. I still haven't grasped the fact that you are gone and it's really hard for me to do that. I know you are looking down on us and you just want us to live our life as if you was here. You always found a way to brighten up my day if I was mad sad or even depressed just your presence made me that much better. I promise you was the nicest guy a girl could ask to be friends with. I remember just saying hey to you and you did your cute little smirk turned red and put your head down. You was so shy! You may be gone physically but you're here in spirit. You're in a much better and safer place.God Bless your family & all your friends! YOou will be forever missed
Love you!

Where do I begin? We have been thru alot and I don't nobody could ask for a better friend than you! When I was having a bad day you always found a way to cheer me up! I can remember racing you down the hallway trying to beat you before the bell caught either of us! I am going to miss looking up and seeing you talking to Dena and me trying to get your attention and tell you to hush and you just lick your tongue at me! I feel so bad for what happened and as you I just alike wish it was a dream. Wes was in my 3rd period and 5th period classes and both he sat right beside me. Last night I only got 3 hours of sleep...thinking this was a sick joke and Wes was going to be at school today. He wasn't...I just wanted y'all to know that You all will be in my prayers... I know everyone is telling you this but I mean it. I was voted most changed with Wes and I don't know what to do...I am going to miss fluffy and him cheering me up when I had a bad day...but just know your son has changed my life and I thank you for him,and thank God for the time he was here with us.

10/16/2008 11:52:51 Wes Mullis -
when I woke up this morning, I thought that yesterday was just a dream. I thought it couldnt be real, it could not have happened to such a wonderful person a Wes was. At 2:14 yesterday i looked at wes before leaving Mrs. Cobb's class and saw Wes smiling just as he always was. The impact he had on my life as well as every other student who knew him was astounding. His story was one of triumph and the power to overcome anything. Wes was never one to give up. I remember playing baseball with him and his "play every inning like it's your last." To know that i will never see his smiling face across from me again is an unimaginable pain that i can hardly bare. Everyone loved Wes because Wes loved everyone. Mr. Brian, you could not have raised a better son. Though his life was cut short all that he accomplished would make any father proud. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and the rest of his family. Wes will never be forgotten by me.
With love,
Dalton Allen

Wes was a great young man and made an impact on my oldest son being out there with the football team. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
